- To be awarded a 2026 scholarship, an application/interview process is held in 2025 and the scholarship commences in 2026.
- Each scholarship bursary is valued at US $25,000
TO BE ELIGIBLE, YOU MUST BE:
- An individual who makes a living from agriculture, either as a primary producer or working in the industry.
- Typically between 25 and 45 years of age, but exceptional candidates outside that age range will be considered.
- Seeking to develop capacity and experience through travel and exploration.
- A citizen or permanent resident of one of these countries: Argentina, Chile, Germany, Japan or Romania.
APPLICATION DATES FOR 2026 SCHOLARSHIPS:
- 1 August 2025: Applications open
- 31 October 2025: Applications close
- November 2025: Scholarship interviews, either face-to-face or via video link
- 10 December 2025: 2026 Scholars announced
All Scholars will begin their scholarship in 2026.
SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW:
Successful candidates must:
- Speak fluent English.
- Review and sign a contract outlining the obligations of both parties.
- Participate in pre-travel activities with scholars/management (webinars/virtual meetings).
- Identify an industry mentor and commit to submitting quarterly reports sharing insight on progress, activities, and travel throughout the scholarship.
- Attend the Nuffield International Contemporary Scholars Conference (CSC).
- Participate in a 5-week Global Focus Program (GFP) travel experience.
- Complete a minimum of 7-weeks of self-organised travel focusing on the personal research topic. Up to two weeks can include research in your home country, subject to approval of a proposed itinerary. A spouse/partner is able to travel with you at their own cost.
- Submit a 10,000-word culminating report, outlining your study topic, travels, research, and findings.
- Present your scholarship outcomes and report findings at a key industry meeting in your home country.

1.PSP Investments Scholarship:For farmers and agribusiness professionals from Chile and Argentina. Topics of interest for this scholarship is carbon sequestration, carbon neutrality, yield sustainability and input reduction.

THE JOHN INNES FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
John Innes Foundation (JIF) and Nuffield International have come together to offer an international travelling scholarship for 25 - 45 year old non-UK resident NRP members to study or further their post-graduate project by taking part in a 14-16 week worldwide scholarship as part of Nuffield International Farming Scholarships.
The scholarship is open to all interested in furthering the dialogue of food and agricultural sciences with the food and agriculture industry, including breeding, health, nutrition and climate ect. The aim is to improve collaboration between science and practise by learning from each other.
APPLICATIONS PACKAGE MUST INCLUDE:
- A completed and submitted online application form.
- A current CV, in English.
- A high-resolution photo (at least 1MB).
- A video (in English) up to 90 seconds in length introducing yourself, your work and interest in being a Nuffield Scholar. Please record it in your work environment if possible. Use horizontal view and record it in a well-lit spot, free of background noise. Due to file size challenges we welcome links to your video submission.
