Chris Graf Grote - Chairman

Chris Graf Grote was elected as Chairman of Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust in November 2020, and more recently was appointed Chairman of Nuffield International. He started his farming career in 1976 growing and packing vegetables for supermarkets in the Fens and later became tenant farmer on the East Coast of Norfolk, where he lives. He is a 1989 Nuffield Scholar, having studied "Poland and the Soviet Union - Are there opportunities for the UK Food and Farming Industry?" Following his study, he was the initiator and co-founder of the Nuffield Russia Trust, undertook numerous EU PHARE and TACIS projects involving Russia, Ukraine and most Central European countries and set up a farming tenancy in former East Germany. With two partners, he founded in 1995 what is now Spearhead International Ltd, farming some 85,000ha in four Central European countries and the UK. Spearhead was sold in 2015 to a private equity fund. Chris has retired from farming but continues to provide international and family business advice and mentoring on agricultural acquisitions, enterprise restructuring and career training.
David Brownhill - External Board Member

David Brownhill is a 1998 Nuffield Scholar and past Chairman of the Nuffield Australia Board. He and his wife Liz, manage Merrilong Pastoral Company, with David's brother, Gordon and his wife, Anne - covering 10000 hectares, which focus on dryland and irrigated grain and cotton production. His key interests are no-till farming, controlled traffic farming systems and high value crops. Understanding businesses, not just in farming and what makes them tick, is also a particular interest. David completed a Bachelor of Applied Science - Agriculture at Hawkesbury Agricultural College and graduated with awards in Leadership and Sportsmanship. He is currently a director of AMPS Agribusiness, Merrilong Pastoral Company, AFF, Nuffield International and Farming for Kids. Hobbies include golf, cricket and V8 bush rally cars.
Martin Davies - External Board Member

Martin Davies is a 2006 Nuffield Scholar and will become Chief Executive Officer of Westchester Group Investment Management in January 2018. Since 2014, he has been Chief Executive Officer of Westchester Group, Europe. Prior to this role he was Head of Farmland Investment at Insight Investment Management, a subsidiary of Bank of New York Mellon. Martin has 25-years' experience in farm, rural business, agricultural investment, company board and governance management. As a Nuffield Scholar, Martin studied the impact of bio fuels on UK arable farming. He has a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Reading and other professional qualifications include professional status at the Institute of Agriculture Management. Martin is also a qualified agronomist and fertiliser advisor. He was a Director of the Oxford Farming Conference from 2014-2017, and chaired the 2017 conference. Martin is a Church Council Member, enjoys sport including rugby, cricket, ski touring and running. He participated in the London Marathon in 2002 and 2003, New York Marathon in 2011 and a Marathon in Norway in 2012. Between 2012 and 2017, Martin has completed 17 Olympic and middle-distance triathlons.
Jodie Redcliffe - CEO

Jodie has been CEO of Nuffield Australia since March 2019, and Interim CEO of Nuffield International since 1-April 2020. Prior to this, Jodie held numerous positions within the chicken industry, most recently as the President of the Australian Chicken Grower Council. Jodie was also President and Executive Officer for Queensland Chicken Growers Association and sat on the Australian Chicken Meat Federation, the industry's peak body. Jodie and her husband Wayne operated a commercial broiler farm for 27 years. In 2017, they sold their farm, and purchased their dream property in Northern NSW, with an Angus breeder operation and agritourism venture. Jodie is a 2013 Scholar whose report was titled "Something to Crow About: What can poultry farmers do to answer consumer perceptions and pressures facing our industry?' Jodie has been heavily involved with Nuffield as Queensland State Chair, a member of the Programs Committee and foundation host of the Japan leg of the GFP. This role is a real passion of Jodie's, marrying her ability to speak Japanese with her interest in continuous agricultural learning
