Ignacio Jose Lopez Cruzat, a 2025 Nuffield Scholar from Chile, was born and raised in Santiago and now resides on his family's farm near Temuco in the country's southern region. With a degree in Agronomy, Ignacio initially worked in Santiago's fruit export industry before relocating to the countryside in search of a more fulfilling lifestyle.

Currently, Ignacio manages a company that sells agricultural materials and inputs while assisting his father with their family's hazelnut orchard. His passion for agriculture and sustainability drives his commitment to raising awareness about environmentally conscious farming practices.

Through his Nuffield Scholarship, Ignacio aims to deepen his understanding of sustainable agriculture, with a specific focus on fruit production. He is dedicated to exploring innovative techniques that balance productivity with environmental stewardship, ensuring the long-term viability of agriculture in Chile and beyond.
