2023 Nuffield International Scholars are Announced

Nuffield International Farming Scholars is pleased to announce its newest Scholars for 2023!

Ten farmers and agri-professionals from the USA, Chile, Japan and France, as well as two scholars from new Nuffield countries Poland and Germany, will join 38 other Nuffield International Scholars as part of this unique global network. The 2023 Nuffield International Scholars are:

1. STEPHANIE BOLTON, CA, USA

Stephanie Bolton will study global collaboration opportunities in viticulture and is supported by PSP Investments and a collaboration of farm organisations and individuals from California.

2. ROBIN EUVRARD, FRANCE

Robin Euvrard from Nantes will study regenerative viticulture, supported by PSP Investments and a Coalition of French Scholarship Investors.

3. JESSICA GRAY, VA, USA

Jessica Gray from Virginia is in receipt of the USA MidAtlantic Region Scholarship to study the potential for a sheep-based economy in the USA.

4. LAURA KILIAN, NC, USA

Laura Kilian is the recipient of the USA North Carolina-based Scholarship to study how agriculture issues are communicated and linked with policy makers.

5. EASTON KUBOUSHEK, IO, USA

Easton Kuboushek is the recipient of the USA Iowa-based Scholarship to study global aquaculture to support the United States in scaling sustainable seafood supply chains.

6. MARCIN MARKOWICZ, POLAND

Marcin Markowicz is the inaugural scholar from Poland to study regenerative farming practices and their impact on soil health, supported by Top Farms Group.

7. DARIO MUJICA, CHILE

Dario Mujica will study soil improvement strategies based on local and high-value organic inputs, supported by TIAA CREF Global Agriculture.

8. MEINKE OSTERMANN, GERMANY

Meinke Ostermann is the inaugural Scholar from Germany and will study farming in the future, supported by a Coalition of German Scholarship Investors.

9. RIKIYA UENO, JAPAN

Rikiya Ueno, from the Hokkaido region of Japan, is supported by Norinchukin Bank to study the potential and sustainable development of Japanese wine.

10. PATRICK WADE, TX, USA

Patrick Wade receives a scholarship generously supported by Bayer and will study the role of trade policy in achieving key sustainability outcomes in agriculture.
