NUFFIELD INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES THE CONTINUATION OF STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH BAYER

01/03/2022

Nuffield International and Bayer announced today that the strategic partnership between the two organizations will continue into 2022, with Bayer as a Global Strategic Partner and a Nuffield International Scholarship Investor.

Over the past 12 months, the Nuffield and Bayer partnership has created mutual value for both global organizations and built upon each other's reach and scale.

"The partnership with Bayer has provided an opportunity to inform, educate, and network collaboratively to create action, and it's designed to spur engagement beyond agriculture in ways that influence policymakers, consumers and others with science-based, practical insights to feed a growing world," said Jodie Redcliffe, Nuffield International CEO. "Bayer's global footprint and focus on innovation makes it easy to find synergies where we can work together."

In 2021, the Global Strategic Partnership investment saw Bayer hosting five major virtual sessions with Bayer experts that gave Nuffield Scholars access to high level expertise within the company. Throughout the year, there were also regular opportunities for Bayer and Nuffield Scholars to participate in mutually beneficial virtual events, surveys and information exchanges.

In turn, Bayer worked with Nuffield leadership and scholars on providing access to company leadership, sharing emerging company news, offering speaking opportunities in venues such as UN Food System Summit Dialogues, and featuring Nuffield voices in Bayer content. As a result, there have been millions of social media mentions highlighting the strategic partnership between Nuffield and Bayer.

Christi Dixon, Sr. Manager of Partnerships-Agriculture Engagement with Bayer's Crop Science Division, says that in 2022, Bayer will extend its partnership further, supporting two 2022 Nuffield International Scholars; Ana Carolina Zimmerman from Brazil and Raqueeb Bey Ajamo-Osagboro from the United States.

"The investment in additional scholars ensures we are directly contributing tothe growth of emerging agricultural leaders by encouraging them to help explore, engage and shape the future of agriculture," Dixon said. "Bayer recognizes that leaders in agriculture, especially farmers and producers, need their voices heard in important global discussions about food and agriculture. Nuffield Scholars, through their extensive global network, can raise their voices locally, nationally and internationally and are well positioned to tackle global agricultural challenges while pursuing their passions for continuous improvement."

Bayer representatives plan to participate and engage with global scholars in Nuffield International's Contemporary Scholars Conference (CSC) held in the UK in March 2022. This is the major event in the Nuffield International calendar. In addition, Bayer will co-create various industry briefings for Nuffield scholars and host Bayer Crop Science tours.

This continued partnership will help provide broader awareness of the Nuffield International program by connecting scholars with opportunities to engage in important forums around the world.
